What is your WHY?

Why would you bother to stop smoking or vaping? Usually it is because the cost of one’s addiction to nicotine has begun to exceed the payoff derived by the relief from discomfort of going without. Although one’s personal health and wellbeing are critical to one’s motivation, sometimes stopping for personal reasons alone does not appear to be sufficient to take action. Let me be clear. It is vital to engage the process for oneself, but sometimes it is something or someone we care about outside of ourselves that fuels the greatest reason to bother.

“I want to be able to play with my grandchildren and not be winded.” I want to be able to walk my daughter down the aisle.” “I want to reduce my health risks now that retirement is near.” These reasons point to a greater cause so that we don’t make the mistake of not realizing how we are all connected. Be a hero in your own life, and more than likely, you will be a hero to your lived ones as well.
